I wanted the master gardner kit to use my own seeds and get the exact combination I want. I have taken seeds out of pods I don’t want and plant with my own seeds but this would be easier with the break apart basket.

I am docking 1 star from my original intention to give it a 5* since one of my packs came with only 8 peat pods rather than the 9 promised. Bad QA.

  2. I bought an Aerogarden to grow my favorite gourmet herbs. I couldn’t find an Aerogarden kit that contained right combination of herbs I was looking for. The Master Gardener Kit was just what I was looking for. Now I can plant exactly what I want, in the quantities I want. The Master Gardener Kit allows me to grow cuttings or plants from seeds over and over again and if I change my mind, I can grow something else without having to buy an entire kit.

This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. Although aeropod combinations are fine, you’re still stuck accepting only certain types and certain numbers. I’d like a lot more basil and with this, I can make a full tray of only basil or any other combination I want.

I’ll edit this later once I’ve gotten some plants sprouted, but this is what you need if you want to try your hand at growing whatever you want with an aerogarden.

  4. The AeroGarden is such a great product that it is hard to believe the same people who put out the AeroGardens also put out this rip off. I wish there were minus stars you could give a product.

My one real complaint about AeroGrow is that they put out something called The Master Gardener Kit. It consists of nutrient tablets, flimsy split apart long baskets, seed pod labels and long foam pods into which you can place your own seeds. When I asked why you had to assemble the baskets, I was told they are easier to clean that way. . . . . . . Yes, that was my reaction. But the Master Gardener Guide that comes with it is what really causes the confusion. It illustrates all models of the AeroGarden being used with this kit, which is not true. Whomever put this Guide together was obviously only slightly familiar with the AeroGarden line and didn’t realize there was a difference in the baskets. It costs forty bucks. Stay as far away from it as you can get.
